Behind on blogging
I have been distracted as of late with digital photography and have been spending quite a bit of time taking pictures. Unfortunately, this hobby has eaten into my blogging time hence the lack of posting as of late. I will try to post more in the next week. Sorry for my absence!
BC to fire head coach
The airwaves were on fire this week over the situation over at BC. The Eagles football team has been very successful under the two year tenure of coach Jeff Jagodzinski. The coach signed a 5 year contract with the college and finished his second year.
The big news is that the coach is interviewing with the Jets for their head coaching job and BC has indicated that they will fire him if he continues with the interview.
The three legs of exposure
I posted previously about the importance of exposure and metering in photography. Metering is the algorithm that is used to decide how to expose the picture. The camera then chooses the camera settings to achieve the optimal result based on what the meter tells it to do. When adjusting exposure, there are three key elements that can be modified. In another post, I will go into more details on these.
DNS
For years I have used secondary.com as my provider of secondary DNS services. These guys were then acquired by a company called Neustar who specialize in DNS for the enterprise. This was no problem and things ran great until I heard that Neustar was shutting down their free DNS services. This was too bad given my positive experience over the years. They offered to continue my service albeit with a $50/month fee and a very complex metering structure. Thanks, but no thanks.
I completed a thorough analysis and decided to migrate DNS to free service called everydns.com. The new service is currently up and running and the migration should be transparent. So far so good. I recommend these folks to anyone needing a free DNS provider although they do request a donation.
